Chicago School Partner Program

Global Explorers and the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation (OPRFCF) Crystal Fund share a similar vision: to help make the life-changing power of authentic, experiential travel available to all students regardless of their economic background. It is with these mutual ideals in mind that the two nonprofit organizations have launched an exiting new partnership program that will enable one Chicago area school to participate in an educational immersion adventure to Costa Rica with Global Explorers.
The OPRFCF Crystal Fund has generously agreed to provide nearly 100% financial support to a group of ten low-income Chicago area students on this adventure of a lifetime. Through this program, students will engage in thought-provoking curriculum prior to departing for Costa Rica, they will learn valuable media skills that will enable them to better share their own travel stories and they will engage in meaningful service projects before, during and after their travel experience.
