Erin Hatlestad Program Support Intern
Erin discovered her love for travel and service-learning work while attending high school in Bend, Oregon. After partaking in youth trips to cities along the west coast she realized the benefits of being outside of her comfort zone and learning about diverse lifestyles. She then had the wonderful opportunity to spend a month in Tanzania and South Africa with her family, kicking off her international experience.
These trips motivated her move to Colorado and pursue a degree in Anthropology and International Development from Colorado State University. Her studies inspired passions in cross-cultural relations, international cuisine, sustainability, and human-environment interaction. Since then she has traveled to Kenya, and Nicaragua, and has recently returned from a 6 month trip through Peru and Ecuador. These international experiences have inspired Erin to explore, learn, eat, work, and live in new cultures and environments while encouraging others to do the same.
In her free time she enjoys biking around Fort Collins, creative cooking, climbing, gardening, snowboarding, and appreciating the fine sides of the local microbreweries. In the future she hopes embark on a camping-bike tour through South America.
