Aracely Rojas Expedition Leader
Aracely was born in a small town in rural Nicaragua. As a teenager she moved with her father to Mexico City where she quickly realized that living surrounded by millions of people and huge buildings was not her style. This is why only a few years later she took advantage of an opportunity to move to the small coastal city of La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
It is in La Paz that Aracely has focused her life on the ocean and the outdoors. She studied marine biology at the state university with a focus on marine protected areas. She has participated in research projects involving coral and rocky reef systems, whale behavior and marine conservation. She frequents the ocean bottom scuba diving for work and for pleasure.
Aracely also works as a sea kayak and whale watching guide. She particularly enjoys watching people’s reactions as they discover the abundant life that Baja’s oceans offer. She enjoys these extended trips into the wild and seeks every opportunity to teach and learn with her groups.
