Megan Nelson
Megan Nelson has more than 15 years of environmental
education experience in regional, national, and international settings.
Currently, Megan is the California Regional Coordinator of the Jane
Goodall Research Institute's Roots & Shoots Program.
She is responsible for overseeing the Roots &
Shoots environmental and humanitarian program in all aspects including
new member recruitment, group support, leadership training, curriculum
development, creating and implementing workshops for leaders and
students, national and international program development and assistance
and partnership recruitment.
Megan has an incredible background in environmental
organizations having worked with such organizations as the Cincinnati
Zoo and Botanical Garden, the Newfound Harbor Marine Institute,
The Catamount Institute and the Teton Science School. Megan has
an M.S. in Ecology/Entomology from Brigham Young University and
a B.S. in Zoology and Biology Secondary Education.
