"We learned about working as a team and pushing through barriers and perceptions, but we also learned about the importance of service and giving back to society."

— Andrew, Global Explorers Traveler, 2006

Waving Students

Global Explorers needs your help! Each year we depend upon teachers, students, parents, friends and colleagues to help Global Explorers support meaningful service projects in our field destinations. We're writing to ask you to help us today by making a tax-deductible donation to Global Explorers.

2006 has been an exciting year for Global Explorers from features on ABC Nightline and ABC WorldNews to a documentary film made about our blind and sighted student program to Machu Picchu with world renowned blind climber Erik Weihenmayer.

This fall, we launched a Follow-Up Community Service Grant Program. Grants support student-designed service projects once students return home from their life-changing international experiences abroad. These grants have, for example, enabled students from Noblesville, IN to build a trail at their local nature center in the Indianapolis area.

Our new Community Partnership Grants Program enables us to support nonprofit organizations in the international communities that we visit. From Peru to Tanzania, we're now helping local students and their teachers to plant trees, clean up polluted neighborhoods and protect forested areas.

All of these programs are helping us teach students the importance of being active community citizens. Nothing teaches this better than involving students in community service projects in the countries that we visit.

We ask you to help us continue to provide meaningful service projects to our students. Through your donations we hope to reach more than 3,000 residents in the communities we serve and over 300 U.S. student travelers in 2007.

100% of your tax-deductible donation goes to supporting community service projects.

Suggested Donation Levels
Amount See How Far Your Money Can Go...
$10 would purchase enough fruit and vegetable seeds to fill an entire community garden that a Global Explorers group is helping build.
$25 would cover the costs of paint and brushes for a classroom that a Global Explorers group is fixing up.
$50 would buy enough shovels for a Global Explorers group to build a trail for a developing country's national park.
$100 would provide money for composting materials and training for a rural community.

We look forward to your support!
