Bio

I am looking forward to this uniquely constructed trip in July.  Not only will I be experiencing a new country, but I will be doing so with both sighted and blind teens. I chose to apply to global explorers because their program not only shows you another country, but lets you see it in different ways. I have never left the East coast so this trip will take me far out of my normal element and I am confident that I can handle whatever challenges I come across, especially with the support of a well constructed group of my peers.  I love being outdoors and being able to be outside, immersed in a foreign culture with other teens who are interested in seeing what Peru has to offer, seems like it will be a lot of fun. Besides knowing that I will have fun, I also like that we will be doing a community service project that helps us give back to the people we will be meeting there.  I am currently a Senior at James Monroe High School and will be heading off to college in the fall and can not think of a better way to spend part of my summer.
