poem / introspection Can You Hear The Stars Tonight?

Swivel your ears yonder, friends, close your eyes and have a listen,
There is lilt in the air and a tingle in the wind that scents the night skies,
The velvet curtains of the heavens are drawn and the sky is aglisten - So pause for a moment, and ponder the mysteries of life till sunrise.

They say you can hear the songs of sages and the hymns of saints,
An eternal beacon in the darkest hour of the most weary day,
that can only be seen when the heart is tired and the spirit is faint - As the stars coyly dance bathed in light, the most divine ballet.

If you look to the stars in despair, struck by this crystal-studded veil,
May you see past the haze of everyday monotony that blinds us all
and hear our ancestors and the kings of yore tell their worthy tale -
Face what you get with a proud smile, no matter what fate may befall.

Then again, the skies tell stories of destiny and the power of love - We are but pawns of no consequence in this heavenly gamble,
May we cast off this diaphanous gaze of opulence and rise above,
and just embrace humanity in all its failings without preamble.

So, thank these silent spectators, guardians of dreams,
For they watch over darkness as we rest our eyes,
Smiling indulgently over our worries and our schemes,
And gently hum their songs as the world goes by.
