The Global Explorers Internship Program

(All internships are currently filled)

Global Explorers offers two highly competitive internship programs:

-A summer internship from June-August of 20 hours per week. Posted online every January.

-A 9-month internship from mid-August through the end of May requiring 15 hours per week. Posted online every January.

We treat our interns as full staff members, giving you real responsibilities and providing concrete professional skills. A few highlights of any Global Explorers internship include:

* Travel internationally!

* Help build the capacities of a young and growing nonprofit organization

* Learn about incorporating science, culture, leadership and service into international travel

* Participate with an enthusiastic and inspiring staff and organizational culture

* Learn about nonprofit management

* Explore sustainable travel best practices

Intern Position Requirements (Ideal candidates would have the following characteristics):

First and foremost, we want travel to inspire you.  In addition we look for: A self-motivated initiator who can work well on his/her own; Detail-oriented; Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; Experience with marketing, development and/or fundraising; Experience working in a leadership/teaching role with middle and high school students; Academic experience in natural sciences, business, social science; International travel experience; Public speaking and outreach experience.
