Safety
Our participants (and their parents) entrust their lives to our care and we take that responsibility seriously. Our preventative approach towards safety prepares our students and staff beforehand for the kinds of experiences they are going to have while traveling.
- We work very closely with our in-country partners to provide the most up-to-date policies and procedures to deal with unexpected emergencies. Should an emergency arise, students will always be within minutes to hours of excellent medical care. In addition, we have a U.S.-based physician who specializes in travel medicine on 24-hour call during all of our expeditions.
- To facilitate safety and logistics, Global Explorers provides Field Workshop Coordinators, in addition to local guides, for all groups. All Coordinators are avid travelers fluent in the language of your group’s host country and are familiar with the culture and communities. These Workshop Coordinators are required to be Red Cross First Aid Certified and participate in annual safety training provided by our travel physician. Take a moment to meet some of our staff members – you’ll see why we trust them to provide a safe, exciting, and educational experience.
- Safety also begins with the organizations we work with in our host countries. We strive to find organizational partners with a strong commitment to the local communities that we visit and a solid history of providing safe, educational experiences for travelers.
